Empowering Black Business Resilience

We are more than a directory. We are a movement dedicated to celebrating the strength, resilience, and innovation of Black entrepreneurs across Washington State.

A Legacy of Hope, A Statewide Mission

It all began with a deeply personal vision. For our founder, Aleeta “Angel” Davis, entrepreneurship is a cause rooted in the values she inherited from her parents, Rev. Dr. Alfred C. Davis and Mrs. Mary Davis: “To leave a legacy of hope for future generations.”

That is a legacy we are committed to fulfilling every single day.

In 2020, amidst the backdrop of social injustice making headlines around the world, the Doing It Does It Black Business Directory was established. It emerged not just as a list of businesses but as a vital resource designed to connect entrepreneurs and consumers with Black-owned businesses in Tacoma and the surrounding areas. Recognizing the absence of a unified statewide resource, we quickly expanded our mission to encompass all of Washington State, creating a directory to shine a spotlight on the vibrant Black enterprises across the region.

Hi, I’m Aleeta “Angel” Davis

“As the Owner and Founder of A. Angel Davis-ItSoMe, my focus has always been on connecting, reconnecting, and introducing people to their greatness. We achieve this through training opportunities, networking events, and community involvement that both strengthens individual purpose and raises our entire community up.”

“My mission is to use my gifts to connect up-and-coming leaders with veteran leaders so, together, we can achieve true greatness. The Doing It, Does It Directory is the natural extension of this work. Its goal is to generate business growth and serve as a powerful resource for professionals and entrepreneurs, ultimately creating an ecosystem that uplifts the community with employment opportunities and boosts the local economy as a whole.”

“When I’m not helping push someone to their purpose or connecting community leaders, I can be found with my five siblings and family, working together to fill the huge shoes our parents have given us.”
